Where it all began
I was one of the lucky ones in school, I knew what i wanted to be and what i wanted to pursue my career in. It was beauty beauty therapy. Aged 16, i got my first 'proper' job in a local beauty salon where i was able to implement theory into practice, whilst studying and gaining my NVQ 2&3 in beauty therapy.
Feeling motivated and Inspired after gaining my qualification i shortly progressed onto becoming a manager of a Spa in my local town centre. This experience enabled me to challenge my knowledge and further my skill base.
At a later date throughout my career an opportunity to attend University was presented to me. This allowed me to unleash my talent and passion for art, design and all things creative. 4 years later i gained a 2;1 art based degree in Interior Design and a qualification in teaching.
Now, although my degree doesn't specifically relate to my beauty, I truly believe that having an artistic background along with over 15 years experience in the beauty industry has shaped my professional practice.
By this i guess what i am trying to say is that care, quality and result driven treatments are what led me to build my own brand and range of services here at The Dressing Up Box.
In 2016 I took what felt like the scariest risk to start my own little business - 'The Dressing Up Box' I named it this because I Started out with just my makeup box as a mobile makeup artist, helping my clients to dress in their skin for how they wanted to feel. youthful, enhanced, confident and beautiful. Whilst creating so many of my client's makeup looks, it wasn't long before i noticed just how many women lacked the confidence without the use of daily makeup products such as eyebrow pencils, gels and pomades that had undesirable or lasting effects.
It was at this point that my quest to fulfill client's needs by training in and providing advanced semi permanent makeup solutions became my undeniable passion.
This passion became my success and i soon featured more than once in my local newspaper and social media feeds. I am grateful and proud to have a successful and regular clientele whom have given me 5* reviews and i have formed great relationships with.
